Biografia
Mi chiamo Paolo Meroni, sono nato a Como nel 1995.
All'età di 13 anni ho coniugato le mie due più grandi passioni, la fotografia e la natura, nella pratica della fotografia naturalistica.
I miei soggetti preferiti sono i vertebrati, in particolare uccelli e mammiferi.
Sono laureato in Scienze Naturali.
Nel 2014 ho realizzato la mostra 'Natura d'Inverno' e nel 2015 ho vinto la coppa del mondo FIAP di fotografia con la nazionale italiana under 21, aggiudicandomi anche la medaglia di bronzo individuale FIAP.
Nel 2016 ho realizzato la mostra 'Passione, Fotografia e Natura' presso la Libreria Bocca, locale storico situato in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ll a Milano.
La mia foto 'Kestrels nest' è stata Segnalata al 'Concorso Internazionale Montier festival Photo 2016'.
Nel 2017 la mia immagine 'Punk giraffe' realizzata in Sudafrica, si è classificata come 'Nominated' nel concorso internazionale 'Nature Images Awards'.
Nel 2018 il mio scatto 'Kestrels nest' si è classificato come 'Highly commended' al 'Nature photographer of the year'.
Nel 2020 la foto 'Blackbirds' si è classificata come 'Finalista' nel concorso Nature From Home del Montphoto e nello stesso anno la foto 'Larches' è stata Nominata nella categoria 'Lumiere et ambiance' del concorso Emotion'ailes.
Nel 2021 ho vinto la categoria 'Uomo e Natura' nel concorso Uno scatto per la Natura. Nello stesso anno ho collaborato alla realizzazione del libro 'Lombardia in Natura' realizzando un capitolo sui relitti glaciali delle Alpi che compiono la muta'
Nel 2023 ho pubblicato il mio primo libro 'Il picchio nero della brughiera', realizzato interamente con foto scattate nei boschi vicino casa.

My name is Paolo Meroni, I was born in Como in 1995.
At the age of 13 I combined my two greatest passions, photography and nature, in the practice of nature photography.
My favorite subjects are vertebrates, particularly birds and mammals.
I have a degree in Natural Sciences.
In 2014 I made the 'Natura d'Inverno' exhibition and in 2015 I won the FIAP world cup of photography with the Italian national team under 21, also winning the FIAP individual bronze medal.
In 2016 I realized the exhibition 'Passion, Photography and Nature' at the Libreria Bocca, a historical place located in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ll in Milan.
My photo 'Kestrels nest' was awarded at the 'Montier International Festival Photo 2016 Competition'.
In 2017 my 'Punk giraffe', image made in South Africa, was classified as 'Nominated' in the international competition 'Nature Images Awards'.
In 2018 my shot 'Kestrels nest' was classified as 'Highly commended' to the 'Nature photographer of the year'
In 2020 my picture 'Blackbirds' is 'Finalist' in the Nature from home contest of Montphoto, the same year 'Larches' has been 'Nominated' in the 'Lumiere at ambiance' category at Emoion'ailes photo contest
In 2021 I won the 'Man and Nature' category in 'Uno scatto per la natura' competition. In the same year I collaborated in the creation of the book 'Lombardia in Natura' by writing a chapter on moulting glacial animals of the Alps
In 2023 I published my first book 'The black woodpecker of the moor', made entirely with photos taken in the woods near home.
